Pet
owners consider their pets to be their best friends, members of
their family and lifelong companions. There is a tremendous need for
training in pet first aid and care because unfortunately, thousands
of pets are injured every year from preventable accidents! Pet
owners would do just about anything to help their pet, if they knew
how, which is why this course is being offered.
Every
pet owner should take this course.
The more they know about their pet's care, the easier their
veterinarian's job will be.The Dog Legislation Council of Canada, a national
not-for-profit organization, is pleased to offer this course in

Fundraising Success
Thanks to all those who
purchased tickets in the raffle for the two Petsmart Gift card & Treat
Tins and the Dog Bed. (Special thanks to Claire for her generous
donation of the gift card and tins). We raised $260 with proceeds going
towards three causes: Puppy Mill Rescue, The Legal Challenge of BSL, and
Journey's expansive veterinary bills.
Thanks also to those who
bought tickets at the SDKC show this weekend for the gift basket, and to
those who bought Pro-Bone Biscuits. Over $300 was raised in support of
the Legal Challenge of Breed Specific Legislation.
Obedience Trial Success
Skiplyn Students had a
successful weekend at the Sudbury and District Kennel Club CKC Obedience
Trial held Dec 12-13-14, 2008. Rudy completed his Companion Dog
Excellence Title (CDX) with style, winning High in Open B. Nova
Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Abila, handled by Tammy, qualified in
three trials towards her Companion Dog (CD) title under the same
judge, winning several High in Novice B, a High in Trial, and the prize
for Highest Novice B Dog of the weekend. Maeve, a Wire Fox Terrier,
owned and loved by Cathy, had an incredible weekend, successfully
completing her pre-Companion Dog (PCD) title, qualifying in all
four legs, then earning a leg towards her CD title winning High in
Novice A. She was the only dog in the entire weekend to qualify in every
class entered! Zoe, an Australian Shepherd, owned by Chelsey,
earned two legs towards her CD, winning High in Novice A in both trials,
and after a heel off between Tammy and Chelsey, she took High in Trial
in her very first trial, she also took home the prize for Highest Novice
A dog of the weekend.
