We simulate real-life situations—like passing other dogs and people—to strengthen focus and control. Long-distance stays, precision heeling, and competition-style exercises are introduced. By the end, you’ll have a confident, well-mannered dog you can trust anywhere.
Group Class FAQs
-
Puppies can start as early as 8 weeks old, as long as they’ve had their first set of shots including the Kennel Cough vaccine. There’s no such thing as “too old” or “too young” to start training.
-
We allow two handlers per dog. Ideally, one should be the main handler for all 8 weeks, while the second can be someone else involved in the dog’s life. Children under 16 are not permitted to handle dogs in class but are encouraged to work with the dog at home.
-
Yes, but we recommend a private lesson first. Group Classes are designed to teach new behaviours, not to resolve behavioural issues like reactivity or aggression. A private session will better prepare your dog for success in a group setting.
-
Dogs must be up to date on DA2P, Rabies, and Kennel Cough vaccines. Puppies must have vaccinations appropriate to their age:
8 weeks old: first set
12 weeks old: second set
16 weeks old (4 months): third and final set
-
We offer video summaries for missed Beginner Obedience classes so you can keep up with the training and homework at home. Videos are not available for other levels.
-
Classes run for 8 weeks, with one 1-hour class per week. Classes do take place on Holiday Mondays to keep the schedule consistent.
-
Yes. Everyone begins with our Beginner Level. It’s not just about knowing “sit” and “down”—it’s about learning to focus and work together in a distracting environment. Our Beginner class is exclusive to our facility, so even if you’ve taken obedience training elsewhere, you’ll still need to start here.
